We were informed that the judge has reinstated the membership of the 7 plaintiffs of the court case and not the entire list of those whose membership has been downgraded. That is the result of the injunction today.

The TTG had prayed and now that the outcome of the court case is as such, will they accept it as God's answer to their prayers? Or will they continue to "play God?" and cast their lots again? Perhaps God made a mistake?
ReplyDeleteBeing vengeful is never the fruit of the Holy Spirit. What kind of fruits are they then bearing? Remember when the Ark of God almost fell over and this guy reached out to help? God strucked him dead because God made is ever so clear from the beginning that NO ONE is to touch the Ark save the priests at ANY time under ANY circumstance because God doesn't need man to aid Him as if He is in need of assistance. That day, if that chap did not dash forth and support the Ark, God would have shown Israel an incredible miracle! But that chap robbed God of His glory. This is exactly what TTG is doing ... trying to aid God as if God is in need of assistance. BTW, that chap is Uzzah from 1 Chron 13:9.
Let God be God. Scriptures made it very clear that there is no need for Uzzahs, neither is there a place for Uzzahs in the ministry. My advice to TTG ... stop playing God.

My office colleagues frequently ask me about Calvary Church with regard to what they had read in the newspaper.
ReplyDeleteThis is what I tell them:
No, as far as I am aware there is no siphoning of funds for some evil intention; there is no CBT; there is no corruption; there is no fleecing the members to personally enrich the pastors. And no, there is no evidence to suggest such things are true or they are being carried out.
But yes, the church leadership is weak in their disclosure and lacking in transparency and good governance. These were then. And after all the trouble we are in, what about now? What about the current Board of Deacons and the pastoral team now? Well, I am sure there may be a lot of things happening "behind closed doors" but that's the problem, they are behind closed doors. The lack of transparency is still there, poor disclosure is evident and good governance is still absent. Engagement and sharing with members is still sorely lacking.
No, this is not asking the church to become a society or political entity. In fact it is asking the church to be the church, to be the Body of Christ where there are no "secrets"; no matters classified as only "need to know basis". How will the current episode (or Thriller in Damansara) end? I don't know but I do know that if we don't start engaging the members directly, more and more members will become disenchanted with what's happening and with the church leadership. And the Body suffers!
So, a heartfelt plea to the church leadership - please talk to the members ... directly!
